A compression shirt is a close-fitting top made from a stretchy, firm fabric. It holds your upper body in place, smooths your silhouette under clothes and feels supportive during training. Here's what to know before you buy one.

What does a compression shirt do?

  • Smooths your shape: firm panels at the chest, waist and stomach create a flatter, more streamlined look under a shirt or t-shirt.
  • Feels structured: the snug fit gives your upper body a firm, held-in feel.
  • Stays put during exercise: no loose fabric flapping around when you lift, run or cycle.
  • Manages sweat: synthetic blends like nylon and polyester dry quickly.

A compression shirt changes how you look and feel in clothes. It doesn't change your body, and it isn't a medical garment. If you need compression for a medical reason, talk to your doctor.

Dries fast Yes No

How tight should a compression shirt be?

Firm, but you should still breathe deeply and move your arms freely. If it rolls up at the hem, leaves deep marks or restricts your breathing, go one size up.

How to find your size

  1. Check the size chart on the product page. Many compression shirts are sized by body weight as well as chest measurement.
  2. If you're between sizes, or carry extra weight around your middle, choose the larger size. A slightly larger size still smooths, and it's far more comfortable to wear all day.
  3. Expect it to feel tight the first time you pull it on. Good compression fabric relaxes a little with body heat.

How to wear it

  • Under a shirt: choose white or skin-tone under light shirts, and black under dark ones.
  • At the gym: wear it on its own as a fitted tank.
  • How long: start with a few hours a day and build up as you get used to the fit.

Our Compression Shirt is made from 88% nylon and 12% polyester, with compression panels at the chest, waist and abdomen, in black or white.

Frequently asked questions

Can I wear a compression shirt every day?

Yes, as long as it fits well and doesn't restrict your breathing. Take it off to sleep and give your skin a break.

Will a compression shirt make me look slimmer?

It smooths your chest and stomach under clothes, so outfits sit flatter. The effect lasts while you wear it.

How do I wash a compression shirt?

Wash cold or at 30°C, skip fabric softener, and air-dry. Dryer heat weakens the stretch fibres.

Compression shirt or compression boxer briefs?

Shirts smooth your chest and waist; compression boxer briefs support your lower stomach and thighs. Many men wear both. See our men's shapewear collection.
